Our Approach:

- Who uses Traveling Mailbox and how did they rate their experience?
Traveling Mailbox Review Summary
Traveling Mailbox is a good option for virtual mailbox services. Both the website and app have an easy-to-use interface and make it simple to remotely manage your mail. Automatic alerts will notify you when you have received new mail and response times are fast. There are plenty of virtual address options and the $15 a month is a great choice for ex-pats and travelers. Large businesses and enterprise users should look elsewhere, however.
Traveling Mailbox Pros
- Low prices providing great customer value
- Fast and easy remote mail management services
- Transparent fee structure if you go over your quota
- Free secure document shredding
- Supports integration with platforms suchs Evernote and DropBox.
- High rated customer support
Traveling Mailbox Cons
- There are better services available for business users (Earth Class Mail for example)
- Scanning facilities are not available at all addresses (meaning a delay as your mail is sent to a sorting address)
- Costs for check deposit, package forwarding and mail storage are higher than the competition
Traveling Mailbox Alternatives
There are cheaper virtual mailbox options that save on costs such as Anytime Mailbox. If you’re looking for more sophisticated, higher volume services for business we would recommend considering Earth Class Mail.
If free check depositing and long mail storage times appeal to you, US Global Mail is a good option. They only provide one virtual address, however.

Traveling Mailbox Ratings
Value – 4.5/5
Comparing the total cost with what you get, Traveling Mailbox offers great value.
The three-tiered price structure is simple to understand and is transparent, which is better than a lot of the competition, (where add-on costs can add up). The basic package at $15 will suit the needs of most travelers and expats. Should you want more recipient names and up to 100 incoming mails per month, the $25 plan also represents great value. In this regard, Traveling Mailbox is hard to beat.
Customer Service – 4.5/5
The Live Chat feature on the website makes it easy to reach customer services.
However, Live Chat is only available during office hours, (which in fairness are long, 6 am -10 pm weekdays and 9 am-5 pm weekends). There are also email, phone call, and text options. After getting in touch with Traveling Mailbox, their customer support proved professional, knowledgeable, and quick to act.
Ease of Use – 4.5/5
Mail management is made easy with a simple and uncluttered web and phone app.
Assuming your mail quota is relatively low, managing incoming mail with regards to opening, scanning, shredding, and forwarding, can all be completed within your app dashboard at a few clicks of a button. No frills involved, just does exactly what you need.
Included Features – 4/5
Traveling Mailbox provides all the main virtual mailbox features, enterprise options are lacking, however.
For personal and small business use, Traveling Mailbox has everything you need. The available addresses are conveniently located all over the U.S and you will be able to manage your mail efficiently. However, if you are a larger business or even an enterprise user, the lack of heritage addresses (based in major U.S city business districts) and features designed for big business mailroom needs, means you should look towards other services.

Traveling Mailbox: Price Plans
Similar to the majority of virtual mailbox services, Traveling Mailbox offers different tiers of service. Here it is Basic, Extended, and Small Business. All three packages offer quality value. Now, let’s break down the differences and see who these packages are suitable for.
Basic Plan: $15p/mo
The Traveling Mailbox Basic Plan is designed as a great value starter option. All the main virtual mailbox services are available, it is just with basic plans your quote is lower. The package breakdown is as follows:
- 40 Incoming Envelopes / Month
- 35 Page Scans / Month
- 3 Mailbox Recipients
- Free Mail Shredding
- Unlimited Cloud Storage
Who should purchase the Traveling Mailbox Basic Plan?
Traveling Mailbox Basic will appeal to customers that do not need many recipient names and will not receive lots of mail. If you are an expat or traveler, this will cater to your mail management needs while you are abroad. Small families will be able to use this package too.
Extended Plan: $25p/mo
Traveling Mailbox’s mid-tier Extended Package is $10 more than the basic plan. Similar features apply, however, here the mail and scan quota are larger. The plan includes:
- 100 Incoming Envelopes / Month
- 80 Page Scans / Month
- 5 Mailbox Recipients
- Free Mail Shredding
- Unlimited Cloud Storage
- Your Scans Rollover
Who should purchase the Traveling Mailbox Extended Plan?
You should purchase the Extended Plan if you are a digital nomad that expects a higher volume of mail to your U.S based address, or a solo entrepreneur that doesn’t require the volumes involved with the small business plan. Families that receive amounts of mail above basic plan quotas, should also opt for the extended plan.
Small Business Plan: $55p/mo
The Traveling Mailbox Small Business Plan is $30 more than the Extended Plan, however, it provides double the amount of incoming mail that is allowed and 100 more scans. The plan includes:
- 200 Incoming Envelopes / Month
- 180 Page Scans / Month
- 10 Mailbox Recipients
- Free Mail Shredding
- Unlimited Cloud Storage
- Your Scans Rollover
Who should purchase the Traveling Mailbox Small Business Plan?
As the name suggests, the plan is designed for small business users. If you run an enterprise with a few staff (up to 10 recipient names can be added to the plan) and wish to manage your mail from a remote address, this is the plan for you. Bear in mind, however, that with this type of plan (i.e business users), there are other competing services that might be more appropriate.

Final Thoughts on Traveling Mailbox
Traveling Mailbox is a great option if you are working on a limited budget. You can get started on the low-priced basic plan, and if your needs expand you can switch plans at any time. The service is easy to use and the customer service is responsive.
Traveling Mailbox is geared towards ex-pat families, travelers, and small business owners which, essentially, is a large section of virtual mailbox users. If, however, you are a business owner looking for more sophisticated features, the service is probably not for you.

I’m a 25 year veteran of USPS. I’m retired now, but as the editor of Mailbox Master, I can’t quite remove myself from the carrier industry just yet. 🙂
One Consignment No: EE197151879TH from Thailand has been arrived at inward office of exchange in IGI Airport -Delhi on 16th January 2024 and it is still lying there. We are waiting for a long time to get this courier. I don’t understand why it is lying at IGI Airport from such a long time.
Hi there, yes, it seems that your package is waiting to be inspected by customs and has got held up there in Delhi. I would add that a 2/3 week delay is not unusual for some customs facilities, however, you could try contacting India Post about the item as they are responsible for delivery.
