You’ve recently made an order through AliExpress and have received a “Received by Logistics Company” status update.
What does this update mean exactly? Where is your package when you receive this alert and far away is it from delivery?
Let’s take a look…
Summary: Received by Logistics Company
The “Received by Logistics Company” status update means that the shipment has been dispatched to the carrier company responsible for the first part of the delivery journey. Essentially, the seller (or fulfillment center) has handed the package over to the carrier.
Received by Logistics Company – Guide
As the summary above explains, the carrier at the origin-destination now has the item within its delivery network once the “Received by Logistics Company” is triggered.
This is the first physical scan that the carrier will have done on the shipment.
This also means that the item has only just departed from the seller/warehouse. There is still a long way to go after this update. 🙂
What Happens After a “Received by Logistics Company” Alert?
The next stage of the shipment journey will be sortation inside a facility owned by the logistics company.
As we are talking about an AliExpress delivery here, it will mean that this sorting facility will be in China. It will also be relatively close to the seller’s location.
Inside the facility, the package will be grouped together with other items that are being shipped overseas from the same exit port, (shipping port or airport).
It will then depart the facility to the export location and be prepared for overseas transit, (customs clearance, handed over to the airline, etc).

How Long will my Tracking Show “Received by Logistics Company”?
Depending on the carrier involved (and the level of tracking updates it provides) a new alert should follow the update within 3 to 5 business days.
You may not receive anything to indicate that the package has made it to a local facility.
However, processes such as arrival at the port of departure and customs checks are normally shown on the tracking page.

How Long Until Delivery After This Update?
I would advise that you do not begin to think about potential delivery schedules at this stage of the shipment.
It is very much still early doors… a lot can go wrong from here. 🙂
While that might sound rather unoptimistic, the reality is that AliExpress shipments can take weeks, (up to 45 business days on standard deliveries).
In essence, this is the timespan you should expect.

Tracking Your Item After it Leaves China
The logistics comment that receives the shipment from AliExpress is unlikely to be responsible for the entire delivery journey.
Because of this, tracking updates sometimes cease at the point the package leaves China.
The shipment is now with a line-haul operator or other similar carriers as it is transported overseas.
To see the details of any scans that take place at this point, you should enter the tracking details into a universal tracking app such as 17Track or ParcelsApp.

AliExpress Buyer’s Guarantee Period
Finally, I recommend that you keep a vague eye on your buyer’s guarantee period.
AliExpress offers 60 days from the point the order is dispatched. (Which is the same time the “Received by Logistics Company” is triggered).
So, you are essentially covered for two months.
No need to worry now, but if this cover period starts to run out and you still haven’t received your order, you should contact AliExpress to open a dispute for a refund or replacement.
