You’ve ordered a product online from AliExpress and received a “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” tracking update.
What does this mean exactly? Where is your package when you receive this alert and how long will take to arrive?
Let’s take a look…
Summary: Notification of Shipment Confirmation
The “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” status alert means that the sender has created an order with the carrier and has sent the details of the shipment across to them. The package will still be within the AliExpress or seller warehouse when the alert is sent.
Notification of Shipment Confirmation – Guide
The “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” is one of the first tracking alerts you will likely receive after creating an order with AliExpress.
Note: this does depend on the carrier responsible for the shipment as not all will use the same status alerts.
It basically means that the seller has sent details of the shipment across to the carrier service. The carrier now knows that the item is ready for pickup, or more accurately dispatch from the warehouse where it has been prepared for shipment.

Notification of Shipment Confirmation – Where is my package?
When the “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” alert is sent out, your package is still within the seller’s warehouse or AliExpress fulfillment center where the product has been stocked.
After you make the original order, it will be prepped by warehouse staff, (i.e plucked from the shelves and prepared for shipment).
Once the seller or fulfillment sender sends details across of the prepared shipment, the “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” is triggered.
The carrier now knows all the important details related to the package. It will leave the warehouse along with other prepared shipments once the carrier has created the logistics steps involved for pickup.
How Long Will My Package Remain on “Notification of Shipment Confirmation”
The last sentence from the previous section is important here.
The carrier needs to make arrangements for your shipment to leave the warehouse and be dispatched to a facility for sorting and onward dispatch.
Unfortunately, depending on the carrier, the level of service used, and whether any delays or backlogs are occurring, (remember much of China, where AliExpress is located, is experiencing massive lockdowns due to Covid), this can take time.
In a situation where your package is dispatched quickly, it could be in the carrier’s nearest sort facility within 24 to 48hrs, at which point the package will be scanned and you will receive another update.
However, where economy services are used and the carrier will wait until there are sufficient volumes of packages going to the same location, you can literally wait for over a week just for your item to leave the seller’s warehouse.
This is understandably frustrating, however, it is all too common with AliExpress shipments.
The fact that the standard shipment states that items can take between 15 and 45 business days to arrive is an indication of just how long it can take for a shipment to get moving.

What to do if your package is stuck on “Notification of Shipment Confirmation”?
Wait, and wait a bit longer still. As covered in the previous sections, your package is at the very beginning of its transit journey and it can take some time to even leave the warehouse.
With transit times of a month and more, these delays are all factored into the delivery time.
In short, there is very little you can do if your AliExpress order doesn’t seem to be moving.
However, you do have a buyer protection period. This runs out after 60 days. If your package hasn’t begun to move when this period is reaching an end, you can raise a dispute with the seller for a refund or replacement.
Similar Updates to “Notification of Shipment Confirmation”
The “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” alert is used by multiple carriers, however, similar wording alerts that essentially mean the same thing include: “Shipment information received”, “The item is pre-advised to PostNL“, and “Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item“.
Final Words
Overall, the “Notification of Shipment Confirmation” status alert means that the carrier knows all the details about your shipment and will (hopefully) be picking it up from the seller soon.
It can sometimes take a while to receive further updates, (this is an AliExpress order after all), however, patience is very often key.
Only when your buyer protection period reaches its end should you expend energy on making inquiries.
