Wish Orders Pending – What’s the Hold Up?

You’ve made an order through Wish and have recently checked your account and tracking page and it states “Order Pending”.

What does this update mean exactly? Why hasn’t your order been shipped yet and is there anything you need to do?

Let’s take a look…

Summary: Wish Orders Pending

A Wish order will remain pending after you have made it, for the length of time it takes for it to be processed. The processing of a Wish order involves picking, packaging, and having a tracking number assigned to it after the shipment details are given to the carrier. Wish states that this process can take up to 7 days from the moment you made the order.

Wish Orders Pending – Guide

order pending

Granted, it can be a little alarming to see your Wish order pending for several days after you have made it.

As the summary above explains, this is because the order has to go through a number of steps in order to be processed.

Firstly, the payment has to be fully processed.

This should be automatic and instant, however, if your bank or payment choice is slow to complete the transaction, the order will be stalled.

Once payment is confirmed, your order will be sent to the pickers in the warehouse/fulfillment center.

Depending on order volumes (holidays being busy) or even staffing levels, this process can also take some time. Several hours or even days.

Once picked, the order is packaged.

The carrier is also informed and a shipment order is made with a tracking number assigned to the shipment.

It is at this stage that the order will be deemed as processed and you will be able to start following it from your tracking page.

At the same time, it will no longer be classed as pending.

Wish Order Stuck on Pending

So at what stage could you class your Wish order as being stuck on pending?

The Wish website actually helps in this regard.

They state that orders can take up to 7 days to be shipped.

In other words, it is not unusual for your order to remain on “Pending” for up to a week.

Anything more than this you can legitimately reach out to Wish and inquire as to what is going on.

Payment Issues & Wish Pending Orders

electronic payment

If you have checked your payment account and seen that no money has been transferred to Wish for your order, you will have a problem.

The processing of your order (i.e picking and packaging) will not take place until payment is confirmed.

I recommend that you check the details of the order that you made to ensure that all details were entered correctly.

If you see a problem you have two choices;

  • cancel the order on the Wish account page, (see below for instructions on how to do that) and make it again,
  • or contact Wish support to see if you can alter the details of the original order.

Either option will work so the step you take is entirely up to you.

If it seems that there are no issues with your order in terms of payment instructions, it is likely there is a problem with the vendor.

It could be that they are out of stock on the item and will not take payment until they have it, or it is simply being delayed in being pushed through the system.

If no payment is cleared within 3 working days of your order (and you know the details are correct), I recommend you contact Wish customer support to see what has gone wrong.

How to Cancel a Pending Order on Wish

cancel order

Finally, before I go, you can cancel a pending order on the Wish website by doing the following:

  1. Log in to your Wish account on the website.
  2. Click on the “Order History” tab located in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Find the pending order that you want to cancel and click on it to open the order details.
  4. Look for the “Cancel Order” button and click on it.
  5. Choose a reason for canceling the order from the drop-down menu and click on “Submit.”
  6. Wait for confirmation from Wish that your order has been canceled. You should receive an email or notification confirming the cancellation.

If you do not see a “Cancel Order” button, I am afraid you are probably too late to cancel the order via the website. The good news is that it will no longer be pending.

However, if you still aim on canceling the original order, you can try contacting Wish customer service to see if they can assist you.
