You’re expecting a delivery from abroad and have received a “Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees” status update.
What does this mean and is there anything you need to do?
Let’s take a look…
Summary: Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees
This update simply means that DHL has received all fees related to any charges applicable to the shipment. Generally, this will be for any taxes or duties owed on an international package.
Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees – Guide
The update is triggered when the DHL shipping system receives relevant fees applicable to the shipment.
It is important to understand that this isn’t simply the original order.
In most cases, you are seeing this update because charges were placed on the package while in transit.
The most common charges of course are tax and duties owed on an internationally imported package.
However, charges can also be applied for rerouting, change of destination, or returning a shipment.
In each case, if a charge is owed and it is subsequently paid, the “Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees” will be triggered.

Is There Anything I Need to Do?
Quite frankly, action has already been taken on the shipment when this update is sent. For the recipient, you should only have to now wait a few more days for final delivery.
This is assuming the charges were related to tax and duties and that DHL has your item in a facility near the destination address of course.
For the sender, you also now know that the item has either been released or is about to be released from customs, due to the payment of the fees, (again, assuming the update was triggered for import-related charges).
In either case, there is nothing you need to do once payment has been made.

Tracking Stuck on “Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees”
You may have reached this article because you recently paid the related shipping fees and now the tracking is stuck.
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon when related to taxes and duties being paid.
It can take several days for DHL to have your package back in its delivery network after the fees have been paid.
Until the parcel receives another scan, you will not see any new updates.
However, if more than 5 to 7 business days pass with no new information, (and even less time span if a premium DHL delivery service was used), you will need to contact DHL to see what the delay is.

Final Words
Overall, the “Payment is Received and Recorded for Shipment Related Fees” alert is quite self-explanatory.
Although it can be triggered after any time of shipment-related fee is paid, it is normally associated with tax and duties.
The good news is, that with confirmation that the charges have now been paid, the package should be moving toward the destination address again very soon indeed.
